[MARHMIS] RE: Question for MARHMIS folks

Our McKinney-Vento person is also a big part of our TriCounty CoC but does not enter into HMIS.  We get regular updates on the numbers of children… In Warren County, we try to hold at least one meeting a year with the homeless liaisons from each school or district ( NJ requires that each school have a liaison) to get input and share data for planning purposes.  The state tracks reported instances of students experiencing homelessness but we know there are many others without a fixed address who do not report.

The statewide Children's System of Care  (CSOC) in NJ is partnering with McKinney-Vento liaisons to develop Education Partnerships throughput the state that share information with school districts regarding services and interventions for children, including homelessness prevention and rapid rehousing programs.

New Jersey also just received a statewide federal planning grant to develop strategies for addressing youth homelessness (16 – 24), particularly those with a history in child protection.  It will be interesting to see what the interface with HMIS is going to be.
