North Atlantic: SSVF Video Project (Additional Details)
Hi SSVF North Atlantic Team,
I hope that you are doing well. Please read through this email in detail (text at bottom and attachments). It was great to brainstorm with a few of you around ideas that you may submit for the SSVF video project. I am really excited. I think the North Atlantic region could be a leader in sharing field practices. This is your opportunity to influence our national learning and training strategy. I am including information (attached) about the video project as a follow up to our regional call in June and the Program Updates that have been sent by the Program Office.
As a heads up, we are also working on getting an informal call set up for any grantees that have questions or who just want to brainstorm with other grantees. More details to come.
Video submissions are due by August 15th.
Thanks so much!
Adrienne
Overview
We are starting an exciting new media project and are hoping you all will take part in it! Regional Coordinators have noticed that many grantees have innovative practices and creative approaches that enhance your program's impact out in the field. We want to capture examples of this kind of unique innovation. The SSVF program office is issuing a Call for Video Entries on Field Practice Innovations asking grantees to create five minute, simple videos that illustrate one of your favorite innovations. Examples might be: (1) a video about a special recognition technique for landlord champions, or (2) a video about a social media campaign that has worked for rural outreach.
This will be a chance to highlight one of your agency's best practices or creative approaches and pass it along to the entire SSVF nation for inspiration. If your video works for this purpose, we will post it to the SSVF U and use it in other forums. For our SSVF region of the country, I really want to get a lot of videos submitted so we are well represented in this project. There are lots of ways to create your own videos these days, and your creative and technology savvy staff will probably be excited with this project.
A few things to consider:
· The Call for Entries Flyer has ALL the details including examples of video topics
· Make sure to read ALL the guidelines in the Call for Entries Flyer before you create a video
· The video must be no more than 5 minutes in length
· Grantees must submit a release for everyone appearing in the video
· Videos must be in You Tube format and must be e-mailed to ssvfvideosubmit@tac.org
· The deadline for submission is soon: August 15th.
· The SSVF program office will contact your organization if your video is selected for posting to SSVF U.
