The deadline to apply for the Alliance's scholarship program for the 2015 National Conference on Ending Family and Youth Homelessness is Wednesday, Dec. 3. Scholarship recipients will receive complimentary conference registration, up to $400 in round-trip transportation to San Diego, and accommodations at the conference hotel, the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina, for two nights during the conference. Only individuals who are currently experiencing homelessness or who have experienced homelessness in the past are eligible to apply. More information about the scholarship program is available on the scholarships page of the conference website.
On Tuesday Dec. 9, at 1 p.m. ET, the Alliance will host a webinar on housing identification, a core component of rapid re-housing. The webinar, "Rapid Re-Housing Core Component: Housing Identification" is the first in a webinar series exploring, "Core Components of Rapid Re-Housing," which the Alliance crafted in cooperation with the Departments of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Veterans Affairs (VA), and the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH). Experienced rapid re-housing providers will discuss strategies to recruit landlords and locate housing to quickly end homelessness for families and individuals.
