In a recently published report that examined data from the 100,000 Homes Campaign and national data on homelessness, the Urban Institute found that the Campaign made a national impact in reducing homelessness. Launched by the nonprofit Community Solutions, the Campaign employed a grassroots approach to invigorate local communities to reach its goal of housing the 100,000 most vulnerable homeless individuals and families. According to the report, the Campaign recruited nearly every major city, and communities that participated in the campaign were more successful in reducing homelessness than nonparticipating communities.
