SAMHSA Appoints Amy Haseltine as Acting Principal Deputy Administrator
SAMHSA is announcing the appointment of Amy Haseltine as the acting Principal Deputy Administrator, effective December 13, 2015. In this role, Ms. Haseltine will join SAMHSA's leadership team and will oversee the leadership, management, and operations of SAMHSA's $3.6 billion budget with a significant portfolio of grants and contracts to states, tribes, territories, communities, and nonprofit organizations.
Ms. Haseltine has extensive experience in overseeing federal government operations. She joined HHS in 2007 in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Financial Resources (ASFR) and is currently the Deputy Assistant Secretary for HHS's Office of Grants and Acquisition Policy and Accountability (OGAPA). In her position at OGAPA, Amy leads a Department-wide portfolio that includes development and oversight of policies and procedures for grants and acquisition, fostering utilization of and partnership with the small business community, and leading HHS's DATA Act implementation as well as serving as its Chief DATA Act Officer. Her experience in grants policy and her role as the Managing Partner for Grants.gov and HHS's Tracking Accountability in Government Grants System has provided her with unique opportunities to examine the integration of grants policy, business processes, and data standardization.
"Amy is a welcome addition to SAMHSA's senior leadership," said SAMHSA Acting Administrator Kana Enomoto. "Her experience in grants policy and operations will strengthen SAMHSA's business practices and grants management to better meet the behavioral health needs of our communities."
