The Alliance has joined 1,500 other organizations in sending a letter to the leaders of the House and Senate Appropriations Committees to request that they provide as much overall funding as possible to the Appropriations Subcommittee that handles funding for the Departments of Transportation, and Housing and Urban Development known as the T-HUD Appropriations Subcommittee. Now we need YOUR organization to join! The deadline for joining the letter is Monday, February 29. Here's What you Can Do:
- Click here to read and sign the letter. This letter is open to all local and state organizations - so join today!
- Forward the link to local and state partners who work on housing and transportation issues and ask them to sign the letter, too!
More Information: Whatever overall amount of funding the T-HUD Appropriations Subcommittee receives (known as its “302b allocation”) will be divided up among all of the Transportation and HUD programs, including McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Grants, Section 8 Tenant-Based Rental Assistance, and many others. The larger the overall allocation, the better chance each HUD program has of receiving sufficient funding during this particularly tight budget year. We need as many organizations from across the country as possible to join this letter by February 29 in order to ensure as much overall funding for HUD programs as possible.
