U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Julián Castro will lead the U.S. delegation at the United Nations (UN) Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development (Habitat III) October 17-20 in Quito, Ecuador. Castro will join the global community as they work to develop a “New Urban Agenda,” an action-oriented outcome document that will put housing at the center of urban policy. The Alliance contributed to The U.S. 20/20 Habitat III, a report released by HUD in preparation of the Conference that focuses on three themes: promoting upward mobility for underserved Americans, expanding employment and educational resources and investing in community institutions.
