REMINDER: ON JUNE 22, YOUR CALL CAN PROTECT MEDICAID! |
|
|
|
The Senate is gearing up for a vote on their own version of the American Healthcare Act (AHCA) that passed the House last month, and recent reports say they could vote as early as next week! The House bill cuts over $800 billion to Medicaid, is estimated to leave 23 million more people without health insurance, and would be devastating to communities battling homelessness.
Now is the time to act! It will only take 3 Senators to reject these cuts, and your calls can make the difference. Together, we can send a message that your Senator needs to:
- Vote NO on any healthcare bill that cuts or caps Medicaid, or phases out the Medicaid expansion.
- Commit to protecting coverage for people escaping homelessness, including services for people with severe health or mental health conditions, and those recovering from substance abuse disorders.
- Commit to holding a public hearing on a final bill, to ensure we know how it will impact the most vulnerable in our community before a vote.
RSVP below for our National Call-In Day this Thursday, June 22, to raise your voice to Congress and protect valuable resources needed to fight homelessness.
We need as many people to call as possible, so grab your friends, mobilize your networks with our quick Call-In Guide, and use our tools here to call on Thursday! |
