Don’t let your Senators' Phones go silent on Healthcare |
Reports suggest they will try to vote on an updated version of the Better Care Reconciliation Act (BCRA), estimated to cut nearly $800 billion from Medicaid and leave 15 million more people without Medicaid coverage, before August. While the final bill is likely to change, no targeted funding, such as for addressing the opioid epidemic or creating high-risk pools, can sufficiently replace massive cuts to Medicaid.
These cuts will be devastating to our country’s most vulnerable citizens. It will only take 3 Senators to reject these cuts, and your voice can make the difference, so now is the time to keep calling. Together, we can send a message that your Senators need to:
- Vote NO on any healthcare bill that cuts or caps Medicaid, or phases out the Medicaid expansion.
- Commit to protecting coverage for people escaping homelessness, including services for people with severe health or mental health conditions, and those recovering from substance abuse disorders.
- Commit to holding a public hearing on a final bill, to ensure we know how it will impact the most vulnerable in our community before a vote.
We need as many people to call as possible, so once you’ve made your calls, tell your friends, share the link above and mobilize your network today! |
