VA Announces Availability of Funds for GRANT AND PER DIEM Program |
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has announced the availability of per diem funds to eligible entities to provide transitional housing beds under VA’s Homeless Providers Grant and Per Diem (GPD) Program models.
VA expects to fund 1,500 beds with this Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for applicants who will use one or a combination of the following housing models: Bridge Housing, Low Demand, Hospital-to-Housing, Clinical Treatment, and Service-Intensive Transitional Housing, and Service Centers. This NOFA does not limit funding to entities that have provided GPD services in the past.
Applications are due February 28, 2018, no later than 4 pm EST. To view the full NOFA, click here. |

NEXT WEEK IS HUNGER & HOMELESSNESS AWARENESS WEEK |
The Alliance is proud to be a partner in National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week, taking place November 11-19. The week is a chance to educate your community, draw attention to the problem of poverty, and recruit new volunteers and supporters for local anti-poverty agencies.
For more than forty years, this nationwide event has helped bring together communities to declare that every person deserves a meal and a home. This year more than 750 colleges, community groups, and faith-based groups across the country will take part. You can help build the movement to end poverty by organizing Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week in your community this year. Visit HHweek.org to learn how to get involved. |

TOP TIPS TO APPLY FOR
THE Transatlantic Practice Exchange |
Applications for the 2018 Transatlantic Practice Exchange will soon be open. To get things started, our partners in the UK, Homeless Link, hosted a webinar last week to introduce prospective applicants to the program and the application process. The webinar is geared towards UK applicants, but US applicants may also find it helpful.
The Transatlantic Practice Exchange is a program that offers funded placements for frontline staff in the US to learn from programs in the UK, and vice-versa. The Alliance will be releasing additional information on the application process for US participants in the coming weeks. You can read the reports from previous Exchange participants here. |
