Learn More » New Research on Family Separation and Homelessness A new research brief from the Administration for Children and Families explores the link between family separations and homelessness. The study finds that about 30 percent of all children in families that stay in emergency shelter have been separated from their family either before or during the shelter stay. About 17 percent of children were separated from their families during the family’s stay in shelter.
