Applications due April 26th by 4:00 p.m. ET
Today, the U.S. Department of Labor's Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS) announced the availability of approximately $13.5 million in Homeless Veterans' Reintegration Program (HVRP) grants. HVRP grants provide services to assist in reintegrating homeless veterans into the labor force with meaningful employment and in stimulating the development of effective service delivery systems to address the complex problems facing homeless veterans.
VETS anticipates awarding grants that will range from $100,000 to $500,000 each. Applicants are encouraged to design programs that address the employment challenges faced by eligible veterans in consultation with apprenticeship programs, industry, employers, and employer associations to identify the skills needed for family-sustaining jobs and careers.
HVRP is the only federal, nationwide program that focuses exclusively on the employment of veterans experiencing homelessness. The program provides job training, counseling, and placement services, including job readiness, literacy, and skills training, to aid in the reintegration of homeless veterans into the labor force.
The HVRP program network includes the Homeless Female Veterans and Veterans with Families Program and the Incarcerated Veterans' Transition Program.
Applications must be received no later than 4:00:00 p.m. Eastern Time on April 26, 2019.
