On December 3rd, 2019, the Fuel Fund of Maryland will be participating in the #GivingTuesday campaign. This global day of giving invites millions of individuals like you to contribute to organizations of their choice. By giving back to our communities, we can truly make a difference in so many lives….
…..especially at the Fuel Fund of Maryland.
In FY19, your support provided financial assistance to 4,731 households and 18,044 adults, children, seniors, veterans, disabled adults and critically ill patients.
Last year's #GivingTuesday campaign raised $19,762.30 and allowed us to connect 197 households during a utility crisis. Because of you, our neighbors were not powerless during the cold, winter months.
A $100 donation during this year's #GivingTuesday campaign will safely restore the power to one (1) household in crisis.
Ms. Waz, a #GivingTuesday donor, left us this note with her contribution last year:
"There was a time when I was a young adult, living on my own, when I didn't have enough money to pay utilities. The choice was light, heat or food. I worked so hard [but fell through the cracks] because I wasn't eligible for utility assistance and the power company did not have any other assistance programs at the time. It was a lean Christmas in more ways than one and it was an awful feeling. With this donation I hope I can keep someone from being in that unbearable situation this winter."
Our goal for #GivingTuesday is $25,000 to provide financial assistance to 250 households.
Together, we can make sure that our neighbors aren't powerless this winter.
