Economic Impact Payment for Families with Children

The IRS is taking new steps to help make sure families with children receive the $500 per child economic impact payments. We encourage community organizations to get the word out to those they serve to be sure all qualifying families get this assistance. This is particularly critical for those who are low income and might not otherwise file taxes.

The IRS urges certain federal benefit recipients to use the Non-Filers tool by September 30 to enter information on their qualifying children. For those unable to access the Non-Filers tool, they may submit a simplified paper return following the procedures described in this FAQ.
