HUD’s Office of Special Needs Assistance Programs (SNAPS) wants to thank you for your tremendous efforts to keep those experiencing homelessness safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a reminder, in an effort to reduce the overall reporting burden on communities, HUD is combining the Longitudinal Systems Analysis (LSA) data collection process for 2019 with the 2020 LSA data collection process. The HDX 2.0 is now open for LSA submissions. CoCs should plan to make at least one upload attempt per reporting cycle (2019 and 2020) by October 30, 2020. Vendors will each manage their own process to rollout the LSA report to their HMIS implementations, which may affect when the CoC has access to the report to make their initial attempt. However, all vendors should have the report functionality in place with ample time to meet the October 30 deadline. Working on the initial upload will: - Enable community users to acclimate to the updated HDX 2.0 interface and ensure the proper staff have permissions in the HDX 2.0
- Allow for communities to receive support from their vendors or LSA support staff via the Ask A Question (AAQ) portal in the event that there are errors preventing uploads
Please note that vendors will need to continue to adjust the LSA report code during this period if additional issues are identified through the upload process. Because the report specifications have been substantially updated to address issues identified last year, these types of corrections should be expected as communities are working on their initial LSA submissions. Questions and Upcoming Office Hours Further details regarding the data review process and schedule will be shared on the HMIS System Administrator’s call scheduled for October 21, 2020. HUD will also be hosting an informational office hours session to support CoCs in the data collection process on October 28, 2020 from 1:00-2:30 PM EDT. Details about the office hours will be sent in the coming week. If you have questions about the LSA or HDX 2.0, please submit your questions through the AAQ portal on the HUD Exchange website. Select “HDX: Homelessness Data Exchange (including AHAR, HIC, LSA, PDX, PIT, Stella, Sys PM)” from the “My question is related to” dropdown list on Step 2 of the AAQ question submission process.
